Supercross took place in Indianapolis last Saturday for Round 9 of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series. Ken Roczen entered the race following a dominant victory at the Daytona Supercross and the expectations of recreating his considerable success in Indianapolis, notably winning in 2023 and achieving his first win with the Pipes Motorsports Group.
Indy is not only a significant race for Ken, but it also holds great importance for the St. Jude Foundation. Every race bike showcases St. Jude graphics, and many of the plastics and gear from throughout the paddock will be auctioned off later this year. Former team rider Adam Enticknap, the “Seven Deuce Deuce,” hosted another inclusive VIP tour. Participants had the opportunity to experience Supercross like never before, interacting with the team, touring the rig, walking the track with a former pro, and receiving plenty of swag. “Indy was not the weekend we wanted,” said Ken Roczen. “I was sick all week and had nothing in the tank on Saturday. The day went pretty good as I was unexpectedly first overall in qualifying. The races were just no good. We will be back in a couple of weeks in full health and ready to continue our journey.” Ken Roczen finished 7th place on his #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki.
Pipes Motorsports Group teammate Colt Nichols started the weekend off with an incredible interview on the Pat McAfee show. Representing the sport well, Nichols took over the show’s second half, explaining the sport while talking about his own experiences.
The #45 Twisted Tea Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance, finished the round in 14th place. “Indy was not that great for me,” said Nichols. “I am looking forward to the week off and coming back swinging in Birmingham.”
The team veteran Kyle Chisholm had to fight through adversity Saturday, racing the Last Chance Qualifier after coming up short in his heat race. “I rode tight in my heat race,” said Kyle Chisholm. “I wasn’t able to push it. I came up short. I was able to get second in the LCQ. In the main, I got caught up in the first turn crash with my teammate, which was a bummer. I came from pretty much last and rode back to 15th place. I rode pretty well. The day didn’t start great but I felt a lot better by the main event.”
Chisholm finished in 15th place on his Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance.
The 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series will reconvene for the the 10th round in Birmingham, Alabama, in two weeks. You can catch all the racing live on Peacock TV. RACE DAY LIVE will start at 10:30 AM PST, with racing set to follow with the first gate drop at 4:00 PM PST.
