The 2024 World Supercross Championship came to its conclusion this past week. While it was not a three-peat for Ken Roczen, he left his mark with emphatic wins in the second and third main events.
Ken Roczen was close to three-peating his back-to-back World Supercross Championship Title. The #94 Progressive Insurance Suzuki RM-Z 450 went 2-1-1-2 for 1st overall at the Abu Dhabi GP. He finished the series overall with 354 points for second in the series.
Thomas Ramette answered the call for Pipes Motorsports Group. Filling in for injured Colt Nichols, still recovering from a crash at Round 3 in Perth, Australia. Despite missing two main events and the Abu Dhabi GP; Colt Nichols finished the series with 132 points for 12th overall. With little time to prepare, Thomas flew from France a day after racing back-to-back nights at the SX Tour for SR75 Suzuki in Lyon, France. The Suzuki RM-Z-backed rider raced three days in two different countries in five days. The #6 Suzuki RM-Z rider made the most of his opportunity with three solid main events, going 12-9-11 for 12th overall.
Derek Kelley had a commendable night and was close to making the super final. The #58 Progressive Insurance Suzuki RM-Z 250 mounted rider went 8-7-11 for 10th overall. He finished the series with 118 points for 11th overall.
Kyle Chisholm had a strong night but came up short of the super final. He went 10-9-8 for 12th overall. He finished the series with 194 points for 7th overall in series points for the SX2 class.
For the team, Pipes Motorsports Group finished the team standings in 3rd place with 829 points.
With one series concluded, another one is set to begin. The preparation for the 2025 SuperMotocross Championship is already underway. Starting with Supercross on January 11th in Anaheim, California.
