CALGARY, Alberta — Pipes Motorsports Group officially kicked off the 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship this past Saturday in Calgary, Canada, fielding a four-rider lineup across the SX1 and SX2 classes.
The team returned with defending 2025 WSX Champion Jason Anderson and teammate Colt Nichols competing in the SX1 class, while Kyle Peters and Crocket Myers represented Pipes Motorsports Group in SX2.
#110 Kyle Peters got his 2026 WSX campaign off to a strong start aboard his RM-Z250 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance, putting together a consistent night of racing to finish fourth overall in the SX2 class after three motos.
Peters was encouraged by the performance and is already looking ahead to the next round.
“Awesome day. I’m stoked on the team and the bike. I struggled a little off the gate, so I know what I need to work on. Fitness is good, but we’ve got more to give. We’re going to come out swinging in Birmingham and get on the podium.”
“Trying day at the Hangtown round of Pro Motocross,” said Team Principal Dustin Pipes. “We didn’t really hit our marks until moto two, with Colt Nichols crossing the line to finish 16th. It was his best ride of the day, but we need to figure out how to get him in that position and build from there earlier in the day.”
#21 Jason Anderson faced a difficult opening round in his return to WSX competition. Crashes in both Moto 1 and Moto 2 put him behind the eight ball, but Anderson continued to battle throughout the night and salvaged a 12th-overall finish in SX1.
#45 Colt Nichols also faced his share of challenges throughout the opening round but fought through the adversity to finish 10th overall in the SX1 class.
Reflecting on the weekend, Nichols said:
“Overall, it was not the weekend I hoped for — not even close to what I had planned. I’m pretty disappointed with how the weekend went. I didn’t put myself in a good spot. I need to be a lot better than what I was, so we’ve got a lot of work to do before the next round.”
#411 Crocket Myers finished 15th overall in SX2 after three motos of racing. Myers showed promising speed early in the evening but was hampered by a difficult start and a crash in the second moto.
“It wasn’t my best work. We started off strong in the first moto, but going into Main 2, I got a terrible start and then got tangled up with another rider and went down. I managed what I could after that. In the last main, I struggled to find my flow. I’m not happy with that, but we’ll get back to work, work out some kinks and get better for the next one.”
On to Birmingham
The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship continues October 10 in Birmingham, UK, for the British GP at Alexander Stadium.
After a challenging opening round, Pipes Motorsports Group will return to work with its sights set on stronger results and a podium push in Round 2.
