Madera, Calif. — The second round of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship presented another demanding test for Colt Nichols and the HEP Motorsports team at the Hangtown Motocross Classic. After a difficult start to the day, Nichols showed improvement in the second moto, posting his strongest result of the weekend in 16th place and ultimately finishing 21st overall.
“It was another tough day in the office,” said Colt Nichols. “I honestly struggled all day starting from qualifying and through the first moto. Once the track slowed down and got a little more technical, I was better in moto two. Not at all what I was looking for these first two rounds, but it was a learning experience nonetheless.”
“Trying day at the Hangtown round of Pro Motocross,” said Team Principal Dustin Pipes. “We didn’t really hit our marks until moto two, with Colt Nichols crossing the line to finish 16th. It was his best ride of the day, but we need to figure out how to get him in that position and build from there earlier in the day.”
