Denver, Colo. | May 2, 2026 — The Progressive Insurance/Cycle Gear ECSTAR Suzuki team delivered a strong result Saturday night at Empower Field at Mile High as Round 16 of the 2026 AMA SuperMotocross World Championship visited Denver, Colorado. Ken Roczen charged to second place aboard the No. 94 Progressive Insurance/Cycle Gear ECSTAR Suzuki to maintain the red plate and a one-point championship lead heading into the final round, while Colt Nichols finished 17th on the No. 45 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance.
Race Recap
• Ken Roczen (#94) qualified fastest and finished third in his heat race. In the main event, Roczen started sixth and worked forward to second to preserve the red plate and carry a one-point championship lead into the season finale.
• Colt Nichols (#45) battled the Mile High altitude while continuing to work back toward full health and finished 17th in the main event.

“Overall, we had a really good day,” said Roczen. “The track conditions and the altitude always take some getting used to—equipment is noticeably down on power, and we’re all dealing with it. I qualified first and went into the night show feeling good. My heat race was just OK with a third-place finish while I kept figuring the track out. In the main event, when it really counted, I rode my best. I wasn’t fast enough to run with Hunter, but I got into second and maintained it. Now we’re one point ahead, and it’s going to be fun to see how this unfolds. We’re stoked to be in this position and we’re going to give it a shot next weekend.”
“Great night tonight for the team,” said Team Principal Dustin Pipes. “Ken qualified first and then was third in the heat race, which was great to see. In the main event, he got a sixth-place start and worked his way up to second, which is what we needed. We retained the one-point lead and the red plate, so we have a chance to win next week at the final round.”
“I’m stoked on the way Ken rode,” Pipes continued. “Once he got into second, he managed the race and did very well to limit mistakes. All we can ask for is to have a chance next week, and we’re excited to have that with Ken. We’re going into next week with a great team and a great group of people around us.”

“It was kind of a struggle day once again,” said Nichols. “I’m still working to get fully healthy, and the altitude sickness got me a little bit this weekend as well, so it was a double whammy. I just need to be a lot better than I was today. We’ve got one more round to go, and I’m looking forward to finishing the season strong.”

The 2026 AMA SuperMotocross World Championship Supercross season concludes next Saturday, May 9, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
