ANAHEIM, Calif. — It was a roller coaster of a night for the Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance team at Angel Stadium, as the third round of the 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship delivered plenty of action.
Jason Anderson powered to a 4th-place finish after grabbing the holeshot and leading multiple laps in the Main Event aboard his Twisted Tea Suzuki. Ken Roczen showed grit and determination after early adversity, rebounding from a second-lap crash to charge from dead last to 8th on his Progressive Insurance/Cycle Gear Suzuki. Colt Nichols, battling illness throughout the weekend, fought through to finish 16th following a steady Main Event ride.
“The day went okay,” said Team Owner Dustin Pipes. “We led a lot of laps. Jason rode great — he got the holeshot and led multiple laps in the Main Event, and ended up 4th. It was great to see him out front riding his pace, and it was a really good bounce-back for him. Ken had a bit of a rough Main. He tangled bars off the start and fell on lap two, but he came from dead last all the way back to 8th. It was a great ride — his lap times were strong — just a tough finish. Colt finished 16th and rode well, he’s just been a little sick this week. Overall it was a good, consistent Main Event from him. Now we’re getting loaded up and ready for Houston.”
“Not quite the night we wanted,” said Ken Roczen. “Starts weren’t there, and I made a big mistake on lap two and went down unfortunately. We charged from 21st to 8th and left it all out on the track — that was as far up as I could have gone. Nonetheless, points-wise it’s still okay. I didn’t lose too many points, so that side of things is good. I’m pumped on the effort we all put in — sometimes that’s just the way it goes. We’re going to try again next weekend in Houston.”
“The weekend here went pretty well,” said Jason Anderson. “Practice was mediocre, but I qualified well. In the Heat Race I was able to get third, then in the Main Event I got a good start and finished 4th. We’re trending upward, but obviously we want to be on the podium.”
“It was a rough day,” said Colt Nichols. “I’m a little under the weather, so I had to figure it out and push through. I was a little off all day — the mental clarity wasn’t quite there — but I survived and did the best I could. We’ve got a lot of work to do to improve our starts. I need to build momentum starting in qualifying. If we do that, we’ll be okay. We’ll try again next weekend.”
