San Diego, Calif. — The 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship returned to Snapdragon Stadium this past weekend for Round 2 in front of a sold-out crowd, and the night delivered nonstop action as the lead changed hands multiple times throughout the 450SX Main Event.
Ken Roczen was in the fight from start to finish aboard his Progressive Insurance / Cycle Gear Suzuki RM-Z450, winning his Heat Race and charging to third place in the Main Event after battling up front for much of the race.
Teammate Jason Anderson got off to a strong start on his Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance and ran up front early, but ultimately finished 11th after encountering issues mid-race. Colt Nichols continued to build momentum with a steady performance, earning 16th in the Main Event.
“It was a good night for us,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “Ken finished on the podium again with third. Jason showed promise — he ran up front early but ran into some trouble and ended up 11th. Colt finished 16th. We’re going to keep fighting and keep moving forward. There’s a lot of racing left, and I think we’re in a good spot right now.”
“We had a really good day overall,” said Roczen. “We won our Heat Race and had an insane battle in the Main Event. Eli and I went back and forth a couple times. I led a lot of laps but ended up third. I wasn’t the best guy tonight — we were maybe three to five percent off — but overall it was a really good night. We’re looking forward to Anaheim 2 coming up quick.”
“This weekend wasn’t as good as last weekend,” said Anderson. “We ended up 11th in the Main Event. I kind of hit a wall and went backwards a bit. We’ll be ready for next weekend and hopefully come out and do some damage.”
“It wasn’t a great night for me,” said Nichols. “I started last in the Main, and you can’t do that in this field. I’ve got work to do to improve my starts and give myself a chance. I’m riding the bike really well — I just need to get out of the gate better and we’ll be okay. The group I want to be with is right in front of me. I’ve just got to clean it up and give myself that opportunity.”
