The 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship concluded its global tour Saturday night in Cape Town, South Africa, delivering an edge-of-your-seat finale. Jason Anderson capped off a dominant performance by sweeping all three SX1 main events with a 1-1-1 finish to secure the SX1 World Championship.
Pipes Motorsports Group enjoyed a strong showing across both classes, with teammate Colt Nichols earning a spot on the SX1 podium in third overall after finishing 3-6-4 in the three main events. In the SX2 class, Kyle Chisholm finished 10th overall, while Robbie Wageman secured 11th overall.
“Fantastic night for the team,” said Mark Johnson of REP Suspension. “It was a double podium for us. I’m super proud of Jason— that last race was a real battle, and he came out on top to clinch the title. Colt getting on the podium was huge, and we’re extremely stoked about that.”
Anderson reflected on the intensity of the championship showdown. “The weekend was pretty dang crazy,” he said. “I knew coming into it that it was going to be a winner-take-all situation. The first two mains were solid battles, and I was able to go 1-1. That last race between me and Joey was a brawl, but I was able to get the championship and bring it home.”
Nichols was equally pleased to finish the season on a high note. “It was awesome to end up third overall,” he said. “The mains were a bit of a roller coaster. I finished third in the first one, which was good, but I got terrible starts in the second and third races, and that really hurt me. I was able to push through and get close enough to land on the podium. It was super fun to finish the series on a high note. I wish I could have been battling for a win a bit more, but we need better starts to do that. This series is so cool, and I’m blessed to be a part of it. Now it’s time to get ready for Anaheim.”
