Roczen Battles to 4th Overall at St. Louis SMX

Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki Rider Shows Strong Form Heading Into Las Vegas Finale

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — September 14, 2025 — The second playoff round of the SuperMotocross World Championship delivered thrilling action this past weekend at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Fans packed the stadium early, enjoying the Pit Party and qualifying before the night’s main events kicked off.

Ken Roczen set the tone aboard his Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki, qualifying 8th fastest and carrying that momentum into the mains. Pipes Motorsports Group teammate Kyle Chisholm also advanced into the program through the Wild Card race on his Twisted Tea Suzuki.

Roczen Battles to 4th Overall at St. Louis SMX

Ken Roczen was riding really good,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “He was 8th fastest in qualifying. In the first moto he finished 2nd, and in the second moto he finished 5th. He had a little scare early in moto two when he nearly ran into Hunter Lawrence, which pushed him back to 6th, but he regrouped and finished strong. We’re seeing big improvements with both Ken and the bike setup. With Kyle out there testing and racing, it was a productive weekend for the whole team. Now it’s off to Vegas for the Championship.”

Roczen credited small but critical adjustments for his improved results:

“We made a couple little tweaks on the bike that made a world of difference. Going into the night show, I felt more confident and it showed. In the first moto I was battling up front and brought home 2nd, which was huge for us. Even in the second moto, the 5th-place result felt like a step in the right direction compared to last weekend. Overall, I was really happy with my riding and the progress we’ve made.”

Roczen closed the night with a 4th-place overall finish (2-5 in the motos) and now sits 7th in the championship standings heading into the final round.

Chisholm Gains Valuable Track Time

Chisholm fought hard in both mains, finishing 20-19 for 20th overall.

“Overall it was a better day for me,” said Chisholm. “We made it to the mains through the Wild Card race, which was good. My starts held me back, but with the prep time I had, I’m satisfied with the progress. I just need to put myself in a better position early. I’m looking forward to Vegas and hoping to finish the season strong.”
