Mechanicsville, MD — August 23, 2025 — The 2025 Pro Motocross Outdoor National Championship came to a close this past Saturday at the Budds Creek National. Pipes Motorsports Group lined up with French rider Benoit Paturel, who was determined to finish his first season in the U.S. on a strong note. Unfortunately, a hard crash in the second moto forced him to exit the race early. Thankfully, Paturel was able to walk away without serious injury.
“It wasn’t the day we wanted,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “With only one rider out there, Benoit Paturel, things didn’t go our way. He finished 27th in the first moto, then was running 12th in the second when he went down and couldn’t continue. It was one of our toughest days this year.”
Paturel echoed the disappointment, though he noted positives from the weekend:
“My day started well in practice, but in the first moto I had some issues,” said Paturel. “The second moto was going really well. I had good speed and was fighting for a top 10 spot. Then I changed my line to make a pass, got kicked off the bike, and hit my head hard. I really wanted to close out inside the top 10, so it’s a bummer.”
Despite the tough finale, Paturel’s rookie season with Pipes Motorsports Group showed promise. Competing in all 11 rounds of the Outdoor Nationals, he consistently battled near the top 10 and closed out the series 15th overall in championship points.
“Overall, it was a great year,” Paturel reflected. “I learned a lot, had some ups and downs, but racing here has been an amazing experience. Finishing top 15 isn’t bad for my first season in the U.S. I wanted more, but I’ll take it — and I’m motivated to improve next year. Big thanks to the team and everyone who worked so hard for me.”
Looking ahead, the focus now shifts to the SuperMotocross Playoffs, where the team will welcome back Ken Roczen to lead the charge.
“This motocross series is behind us and now it’s time for SuperMotocross,” said Brooks. “Having Ken back is a huge positive, and we’re ready to go out there and put up a fight.”
The three-round SuperMotocross Playoffs begin September 6, 2025, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Z-Max Dragway in Concord, NC. Fans can tune in to Racing Day Live on Peacock TV starting at 6:30 a.m. PST, followed by a special pre-race show at 11:30 a.m. PST, with racing action kicking off at noon.
