The excitement heading into Round 10 of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship was at an all-time high after Ken Roczen announced early in the week that he would return to one of his favorite tracks—Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York. Fans packed the pits and lined the hillsides to watch what promised to be an electric day of racing.
“Ken chose to line up after just three weeks back on the bike,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “It was really just preparation for the upcoming SuperMotocross playoffs. He did well considering the circumstances—qualifying 4th fastest and finishing 5th in the first moto. Unfortunately, he ran out of energy in the second moto and wasn’t able to finish. Still, it gave us a clear picture of where he’s at heading into the playoffs. Beniot Paturel rode strong as well, going 16-13 for 16th overall. Not a bad day for the team, and a step forward as we get ready for Budds Creek.”
Despite the 13th overall result, Roczen’s speed showed promise with his impressive qualifying performance and strong first-moto finish.
“Well, it was definitely worth a try,” said Ken Roczen. “I’m not mad that I raced—it was good to blow myself out a bit and see where I’m at before Charlotte. We knew it was early, but we said, ‘screw it, let’s give it a shot.’ Racing is the best practice you can get. My ankle felt pretty solid overall—it still feels different than my left one, but it’s stable and ready. Now it’s back to work so we can improve before Charlotte. I’m excited to get back to training and really dial in for SuperMotocross.”
Teammate Beniot Paturel also reflected on the weekend:
“My day was okay, but I’m a little disappointed,” Paturel admitted. “My riding felt good, but I had bad starts both motos and had to come from the back. I want to be in the top 10, but it wasn’t happening this week. We’ll regroup and give it everything at the last round.”
The 2025 Pro Motocross Championship wraps up this Saturday, August 23, at Budds Creek in Mechanicsville, Maryland. Live coverage of Round 11 will air on Peacock TV, beginning with Race Day Live at 7:00 AM PST, followed by the first gate drop at 10:00 AM PST.
