Crawfordsville, Indiana – August 9, 2025 – The 2025 Pro Motocross Outdoor National Championship returned to action this past Saturday with Round 9 at Ironman Raceway. The Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance team was down a rider, with Colt Nichols sidelined for the remainder of the outdoor season following surgery on a torn UCL in his right thumb. That left Benoit Paturel to carry the team’s banner aboard his #102 Suzuki.
Paturel’s strongest performance came in Moto 1, where he rocketed out of the gate and rounded the first turn in third place. He held a strong pace for much of the race before crossing the line in 13th position.
“Today was a rough one,” admitted Team Manager Larry Brooks. “With only Benoit racing, we were optimistic after he qualified 10th. The first moto started great—third out of the gate—but he eventually slipped back to 13th. The heat was tough on everyone. In Moto 2, he went down in the first turn and had to come from dead last, working his way up to 19th for 18th overall. It’s not the result we wanted, but sometimes racing throws you curveballs. We’ll regroup and aim for better results next weekend.”
Paturel echoed the determination to improve: “Overall, my riding and speed were good. In the first moto I got a great start but faded late. In the second, the crash at the start made it a fight just to get back into the points. The team is doing a great job—I just need to put all the pieces together. I’m looking forward to next weekend.”
The 2025 Pro Motocross Outdoor National Championship continues this Saturday, August 16th at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York, for Round 10. Live coverage begins on Peacock TV with Race Day Live at 7:00 a.m. PST, followed by the first gate drop at 10:00 a.m. PST.
