Paturel Finishes 13th Overall at The Wick

– Southwick, Massachusetts – June 29, 2025

The fifth round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Outdoor National Championship brought riders and fans to the legendary sands of The Wick in Southwick, Massachusetts. Despite looming weather, the skies held steady, and enthusiastic crowds packed the paddock and lined the fences for an exciting day of racing.

– Team Recap

Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance had a mixed weekend, with Beniot Paturel securing 13th overall and Colt Nichols facing tough luck in both motos.

“Qualifying went okay,” said Lead Engine Technician Dave Dye. “It’s Beniot’s first time racing most of these tracks, so it takes some getting used to. But overall, qualifying went well. We saw some minor weather fluctuations during the day. I think Beniot rode solidly and showed consistency. Colt had a rough go—it started with a crash in the first moto, and he couldn’t get the bike started. The second moto wasn’t much better. We’ll do some testing this week and are already looking forward to RedBud.”

– Rider Reflections

“It was an average day,” said Beniot Paturel. “In the first moto, I was running in the top ten before I had a clutch issue. In the second moto, I got back into the top ten, but I stalled the bike and lost several positions. A 14-14 finish and 13th overall is not where we want to be, but we’ll take it. I’m looking forward to RedBud.”

Colt Nichols summed up his day candidly: “It was not a good day. I crashed and couldn’t get the bike started in both motos, resulting in two DNFs. I’m putting this one behind me and shifting focus to RedBud.”
