This past Saturday, the 15th round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the first time Supercross has been held in “the Burgh” since 1983.
Supercross fans flocked to the Paddock for Fan Fest, stopping by the Twisted Tea Rig to pick up our version of the iconic “Terrible Towel.” At six o’clock sharp, fans filled Acrisure Stadium for the opening ceremonies.
Team host Adam Enticknap hosted an incredible group of VIPs who experienced Supercross in a way that cannot be replicated from watching on TV or from the stands. They enjoyed track walks, rig tours, one-on-one interactions, and photo opportunities with the riders. “The night went pretty good,” said Team Manager, Larry Brooks. “We got lucky with the weather, that’s for sure. It could’ve been bad, but it ended up being good. Ken Roczen finished 6th on the night. He won his heat race, which was good. Colt Nichols finished 12th, and Kyle Chisholm finished 16th place. So, we had three guys in the top 20, which is good. We have two more races after this. We are going to keep grinding away.”
“We have just been trying our best the last few weekends,” said Ken Roczen. “It has been tough. I am definitely not at my best right now. I need some time to heal and get back to peak performance. Right now, we are just maintaining. It’s unfortunate the results aren’t there, but we have a couple to go, and we want to do our best to stay in the game.” Ken Roczen finished 6th place on his #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki.
“Overall, it was a better night in a lot of ways for me,” said Colt Nichols. “I was in the fight for the first part of the race. I came out of the gate much better in the main event. I rode well for the first bit of the main. I got a little tight, made a few mistakes, and went a bit backward at the end. Still, a lot of work to do and a lot of work to improve. I am taking the positives from tonight and going into Denver excited for the last two rounds.” Colt Nichols finished 12th place on his #45 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance.
“Overall, it was an ok day,” said Kyle Chisholm. “I got the track down pretty good but not as comfortable as I wanted to be with two shortened qualifying sessions. The track turned out pretty good, but I just never felt as good as I wanted to out there today. I tried my best today, but it wasn’t my best. I want to be closer to the top ten, and I have two more rounds to do that.” Kyle Chisholm finished 16th place on his #11 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance. A veteran of the sport, “Chiz” has two races remaining before he officially retires from racing professionally.
Only two rounds remain as the series heads to Denver, Colorado, for the 16th round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series. Coverage of the race will be live on PeacockTV, starting with Race Day Live at 11:30AM PST and followed by the first gate drop at 4:00PM PST.
