The 14th round of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series was in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this past Saturday. Fan Fest kicked things off early on Saturday morning at MetLife Stadium. The team played host to another great group of VIP’s. Spending the day with former team rider Adam Enticknap, the VIP’s got to experience Supercross up close, which included track walks, rig tours, one-on-ones, and photo opportunities with the riders. “It was a rough weekend,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “But it wasn’t a terrible one, its just one we haven’t been used to lately. Ken Roczen has been dragging around an injury for a few weeks now. Ken finished 7th in the main event. He hurt himself during the main and dropped back to 7th, he was up in 5th for a long time after a bad start. Colt Nichols finished 13th and Kyle Chisholm finish 16th in the main event. They both where about mid pack off the start and worked their way up to where they finished. We are holding our heads up high and go into Pittsburgh next weekend and keep grinding away. We have 3 rounds left to go. Hopefully we can make this happen!”
“New Jersey was not the greatest weekend for us, honestly,” said Ken Roczen. “It has just been really tough not riding during the week. I didn’t feel too bad in practice. It just wasn’t my weekend. I didn’t feel that hot, and we only ended up with a 7th place. So not the best, but it’s been a tough couple of weeks. I am going to throw this one behind me, regroup and see if we can turn it around for next weekend!” Ken Roczen finished 7th aboard his #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki.
“East Rutherford wasn’t a terrible night for me,” said Colt Nichols. “But I keep shooting myself in the foot out of the gate during the main event. Starting way in the back and working my way up just isn’t going to get it done. I need to put myself in a better position from the start. We will try to do that next weekend.” Colt Nichols finished 13th aboard his #45 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance.
“Overall, it was an okay day,” said Kyle Chisholm. “We had good weather which was an awesome change from the last couple weeks. I had a decent qualifying, felt pretty good on the track, and felt good on my bike all day. My heat race was pretty good, I battled a bit and went straight out of the heat race to the main event. I didn’t have the intensity I needed when it came to the main event. I am going to rest up this week and recover, so I will come in next weekend more rested. Hopefully we will have a good week and get back at it in Pittsburgh.” Kyle Chisholm finished in 16th place aboard his #11 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance.
