Supercross returned to the Pacific Northwest Saturday for the 11th round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship series in Seattle, Washington. “We had a lot of rain leading up to the race,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “The track guys did an awesome job. They saved the day, honestly. It could have been a muddy mess, and it turned out to be a really good track. Very happy that those guys do such a good job.”
With the stage set, the pits quickly filled up Saturday morning as the Fan Fest started. Playing host to 11 VIPs, Adam Enticknap gave these special few a race day experience they will never forget. The excitement rolled into the night show. You could hear the crowd roar as Roczen moved into the lead during the main event. The #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki had the fans on the edge of their seats, leading for nine laps before ultimately settling into 4th place. “Ken Roczen rode good,” said team manager Larry Brooks. “He is still struggling with his shoulder, but he gave it everything he had for the main. Ken was battling for the lead for a long time, but that shoulder was bothering him. 4th was as good as he had tonight. I am super proud of him. I think he did really good.”
“Seattle was great,” said Ken Roczen. “For whatever reason, when the main event comes around, I hone-in and become really focused. With the injury I don’t want to aggravate it during practice. With a track like this, you have to be extremely in tune. Honestly, it was just one lap where I lost a bit and made a bunch of mistakes when they were all right behind me, and they went by me. I am still holding my head high, it’s hard, and my shoulder needs a lot of rest. My ligaments are almost torn in the AC joint so if I fall, I make it worse. So right now, I am going to keep doing what I am doing, and hopefully, we can get back to 100% before the season is over.”
Pipes Motorsports Group teammates Colt Nichols and Kyle Chisholm had good nights aboard their Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance RMZ-450s. Colt Nichols finished 12th place, and Kyle Chisholm finished a season-best in 13th place.
“They rode well,” said team manager Larry Brooks. “I think it was a little step forward for both those guys. It was a good night for Suzuki. We are giving it everything we got.”
The #45 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance looked much better out there, battling toward the top ten. “It was a better weekend for me,” said Colt Nichols. “It was a better direction for the bike. I felt like I rode a lot better and qualified better—definitely a better heat race. I put myself in a better position in the main event. I fell off a little bit at the end of that race. I was a little disappointed in that. Overall, though, I put myself in a much better spot. I felt much more like myself on the motorcycle. So, a lot of positives to take away from the weekend.”
The veteran of the team, Kyle Chisholm, posted a season-best 13th place on his #11 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance. It was a roller coaster-type day for Kyle and his mechanic. After a scary crash in the heat race, mechanic Andrew Livingston, with Billy Hartle‘s and Joseph Kremkow’s assistance, quickly teamed up to get Chisholm’s race bike ready for the last-chance qualifier. “I ripped a good start in my heat race,” said Kyle Chisholm. “I made a little mistake and couldn’t double into the first rhythm section out of the first corner. Stewart didn’t know I wasn’t going to be able to double, and he doubled and clipped my arm. I went for a ride. It was a pretty bad crash. I hit the ground hard, but luckily, I was okay, minus a few scratches and bruises. In the LCQ, I was able to rip an awesome start and work my way up the pack. I was able to capitalize on the guy leading and making a mistake, and I was able to go for the win. I felt good in the main, I was battling around the top ten. I ended up with a season-best 13th place. My team did a great job, and I am looking for more in Boston.”
Racing continues this Saturday, April 5th, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, for the 12th round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship series.
