This past Saturday, Ken Roczen won the Daytona Supercross, marking an unforgettable eighth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series held at the Daytona International Speedway. It was a significant achievement for both Roczen and Pipes Motorsports Group, as the #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki crossed the finish line first overall.
“I honestly can’t believe it,” said Ken Roczen. “I really put my head down and found some really good lines. This is definitely one of my best wins ever, and it feels pretty surreal. I just keep doing my thing, trust my decisions, and it’s paying off.”
Twisted Tea Suzuki rider #45 Colt Nichols, presented by Progressive Insurance, had a commendable day with a 15th-place finish. “I really struggled in the main event,” Nichols said. “I didn’t ride anywhere close to my ability, which was very disappointing. This was my first time racing here, and I’ve never made it this far into the season before, so I consider that a small win for me. I know I need to perform much better than I did tonight. We’ll try again next weekend.”
The team veteran and Florida native raced his last professional race in his home state. Ending things on solid top 20 performance aboard his #11 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance. “Worked really hard this week,” said Kyle Chisholm. “I had a great week of riding but it didn’t translate race day so that was frustrating. Practice and qualifying went well for me and I felt good on the track. I was happy with my heat race, I made some good passes and qualified directly into the main. In the main event, I didn’t have it. I didn’t get off to a good start and I struggled to find my rhythm and get in a flow. We will go back to work this week, and we will get another chance in Indy this weekend.”
The series heads to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 9th round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series. The event is covered live on Peacock TV, starting with Race Day Live at 10:30 AM PST and followed by the first race at 4:30 PM PST.
