This past Saturday, the 6th round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship was in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Ken Roczen finished the day in 2nd place on his #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki. Pipes Motorsports Group teammate Colt Nichols had his best result this year with 11th place, and Kyle Chisholm finished the day in 17th place.
After a disappointing round five, in which Ken Roczen crashed while in podium position and was unable to finish the race, he found himself 18 points down. It was crucial for him to regain his momentum in Detroit. “I knew I had to bounce back quickly after last round, or else,” Roczen commented. “I needed to execute my plan, and I did just that. This race was important for me, and I’m pleased with my performance. Everything is going well, and there’s still a lot of racing ahead.”
Finishing the round in 2nd place, Ken Roczen gained 2 points in championship points and is only 16 points out of first with 11 rounds to go.
The veteran, Kyle Chisholm tied the King of Supercross, Jeremy McGrath in all time premiere class supercross starts with 173 and is now 8th all time. He followed that up with a 17th place finish on his #11 Twisted Tea Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance.
Colt Nichols had an impressive performance, achieving his best result of the year on his #45 Twisted Tea Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance. He finished in 11th place, getting closer to breaking into the top ten. “It was a better weekend for me in Detroit,” Nichols said. “I figured out a bit of the bike setup for the main event and felt more comfortable. I need to improve my starts to get into the mix earlier, but we are trending in the right direction.”
