PMG’s Ken Roczen 6th Overall in Final Supermotocross Points

The second year of Supermotocross wrapped up this past weekend at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was an awesome turnout, with fans coming Friday to watch practice, get autographs early, and take part in all the extra Friday activities put on by Supermotocross. On Saturday, there was not an empty seat in the house. The stands were packed, and the crowd was loud, setting up the perfect stage for a championship race.

#94 Ken Roczen

For Pipes Motorsports Group, #94 Ken Roczen, it was not the ending he or the team wanted. Roczen wrapped up the Supermotocross with a 7th overall result, going 8-6 in two main events. In the three Supermotocross Championship races, Ken finished 6th overall in total points for the premiere class. Building momentum every SMX round, there is a lot of excitement for the World Supercross Championship, starting with the Canada GP in Vancouver, Canada, on October 26th.

#45 Colt Nichols

#45 Colt Nichols struggled to get past second during the last-chance qualifier race and missed his ticket into the main event. The unseeded riders competing in the Supermotocross must ride the LCQ for one of two spots open to the Main Event. Luckily for Colt, a spot opened up for the second main after a rider went down in the first race. Nichols salvaged the day, finishing 16th overall after an impressive second moto with 9th place on his Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki RM-Z 450. He finished 14th overall in championship points for the three Supermotocross rounds.

#11 Kyle Chisholm

#11 Kyle Chisholm had a scary crash in the opening lap of the first main event. Lucky the veteran was ok after getting flung to the ground after making contact with another rider, finishing the race in 20th place. Making the most of what he could, feeling beat up after the first moto crash, Kyle finished the second moto in 17th place, putting him 20th overall. He finished 22nd overall in championship points for the three Supermotocross rounds.

As one series concludes, another is set to start. The World Supercross Championship opening round is right around the corner. The Canadian GP on October 26th in Vancouver, Canada, is set to be an epic event as Roczen looks to defend his title. For tickets or more event info, go to https://wsxchampionship.com/events.
