Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted the second of the three Supermotocross races for the year. It was an exciting two-day event for race fans who came out to watch. For Pipes Motorsports Group, it was a great day, with Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki #94 Ken Roczen finishing 6th overall, Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki riders #45 Colt Nichols finishing 10th overall, and #11 Kyle Chisholm finishing 16th overall.
Despite the strong team result, it was bittersweet. In the second moto, Ken tipped over in the first corner, losing a lot of time and track before getting going again. However, Roczen did not let that be his day and put on a sensational ride as he battled back from last place into the top ten, posting the fastest lap times in the process. Going 6-6 in two main events, the #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki finished 6th overall.
Colt Nichols continues to shine on his Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki with another consecutive top-ten result. After leading the race, he left the LCQ with a win; the #45 RM-Z Suzuki did not stop there; he went 13-10 for 10th overall.
Kyle Chisholm was on the mend and feeling great after last week, and it showed in the veteran’s solid day of racing on his Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki, going 18-12 for 16th overall.
It all comes down to this Saturday. 17 Supercross races, 11 Pro Motocross races, and two Supermotocross rounds all lead up to this Saturday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Triple points are on the line, and we know anything is possible.
