Chisholm is 13th overall in Washougal

Washougal, Washington, hosted the 8th round of the 2024 A.M.A. Pro Motocross Championship series. Washougal MX Park features one of the biggest hillsides the series has to offer with the iconic “Horsepower Hill,” a section of track that takes these dirt bikes from the very bottom straight to the top of the mountain in seconds. The Washougal National tests the riders’ capability and the team’s ability to prepare the race bike for the high altitude race with grueling conditions unfolding throughout a 30-minute plus 2-lap race. For the Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki race team presented by Progressive Insurance, it was a good round on the one hand and not so much on the other. Kyle Chisholm led the way for the team on the #11 RM-Z 450 Suzuki, finishing 13th overall. Teammate #12, Shane McElrath, did not have the same success, stalling the opening lap first moto, then the next moto not getting out to a great start; he finished the day 25th overall.

It was a solid round for veteran #11 Kyle Chisholm, who doubles as the team’s test rider during the week. He had two consistent motos, 15th place in the first moto and 16th place in moto two, finishing 13th overall.

#12 Shane McElrath faced some adversities this past round. Despite the struggles, he and the team continued to work through the round. McElrath managed the best he could, with a 21-21, putting him 25th overall.

The next race is August 10th at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York. The teams are ready for the two-week break to rest and prepare for the final stretch of the 2024 A.M.A. Pro Motocross Championship. Coverage of the 10th round starts with Race Day Live at 7:00 AM PST and the first gate drop at 10:00 AM PST on the Peacock T.V. app.
