Fans filled the hillsides for the Hangtown National

The annual Hangotwn Classic took place this past Saturday in Sacramento, California. The fans filled the hillsides for the second round of the Pro Motocross Outdoor Nationals, and the racing did not disappoint. For the Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki team, it was another round that started out promising and ended in disappointment. #11 Kyle Chisholm finished 21st overall, and #12 Shane McElrath finished 24th overall—not where either rider or the team expected to finish. Despite the results, the team showed remarkable resilience and progress was made in Hangtown.

#11 Kyle Chisholm

#11 Kyle Chisholm was off to a great start, finishing the first qualifying session in 10th and following up with 14th in the second session. He did not get the best start in his first moto but managed to hold on to 14th for most of the race before falling back in the final laps. He finished in 17th place. In the second moto, Chisholm got a much better start, running in the top ten for the first two laps of the race. Midway through the race, while in 14th, Kyle had a minor tip-over that got him caught under the bike. By the time he got back going, he had lost a lot of position and time. He finished the race in 23rd place. In two motos, going 17-23, Chisholm finished 21st overall.

#12 Shane McElrath

#12 Shane McElrath had a rough day in the office. He didn’t find his flow out there; his results showed that with a 21-24 for 24th overall. However, Shane and the team are not deterred. They are working tirelessly to improve his position for Thunder Valley.

Round three of the Pro Motocross Outdoor Nationals will be in Lakewood, Colorado’s Thunder Valley Motocross Park. Peacock TV will broadcast live race coverage starting with Race Day Live at 9:00 AM PST. The 450’s will be the first race of the day; coverage begins at 1:00 PM PST.
