Roczen presents $25,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series went out with a bang in Salt Lake City, Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium, this past Saturday, May 11th, 2024. It was a historic night for supercross racing; it all came down to the last race, which crowned three champions in one night.

The Kickstart Kenny Campaign culminated in front of a sold-out stadium. Following the heat races, Ken Roczen and Pipes Motorsports Group joined St. Jude on the podium to present a $25,000 check to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on behalf of Progressive Insurance, Ecstar, and Suzuki. The winner of the RM Z 450 race ridden by #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki was announced live on the PeacockTV App. Christopher Powell of Bailey, Colorado, got a phone call directly from Ken Roczen during the Race Day Live broadcast.

Not only did Ken Roczen get to giveaway his bike and present a $25,000 check to St Jude, but he also got to watch his oldest in the e-bike race. It was a special night for the Roczen Family.

Missing three races and one DNF, Roczen still managed 7th in series points with 223 points scored. Supercross did not go as planned, but the series was filled with unforgettable moments. Ken stepped on the podium in six different rounds: 3rd in San Francisco, 3rd in Detroit, 3rd in Birmingham, 2nd in Indianapolis, 3rd in Boston, and most notably, a win in team partner Dixxon Flannel’s home state of Arizona. Every time Roczen lined up to race, he was in podium contention.

#12 Shane McElrath

Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki Shane McElrath finished the main event with a solid 14th place after a frustrating start in the main event hindered Shane’s efforts, having to come through the pack for 14th place. He finished the year with 132 points scored and 13th overall in series points, with his best race coming in the second round with a 4th-place finish.

#11 Kyle Chisholm

Teammate #11, Kyle Chisholm, had a good finish to the year on his Twisted Tea H.E.P. Suzuki, relentless in the final stretch of the Supercross season, battling through some lingering injuries. He finished the main event in 16th place. Kyle scored 66 points and was 18th in the Supercross series points.

It’s one nice weekend off for the sport as we gear up for the 2024 Pro Motocross Series opening round in Pala, California, on Saturday, May 25th, 2024. The event will be covered live on the Peacock TV App, starting with Race Day Live at 10:00 AM PST. Racing begins with the first gate drop at 1:00 PM PST.
