Ken Roczen demonstrated remarkable resilience at the 13th round of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Despite the intense competition, the #94 Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki RM-Z450-mounted Roczen held onto second place for the majority of the event. Even in the final stages, when faced with a fierce battle, he managed to secure a spot on the podium, finishing in third place.
Regrettably, the night took a dramatic turn for Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki rider Shane McElrath. He had a strong start, running in the top six for the first eight laps until ultimately a collision with another rider led to nerve damage and numbness in his elbow, arm, and wrist. This forced him to retire early and finish in 21st place. Fortunately, after evaluation, it looks like McElrath’s injuries are not severe, and he’s expected to be ready for the upcoming race in Nashville.
Kyle Chisholm, the Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki rider, showcased his dedication in the 13th round. Despite injuring his ankle earlier in the day, Chisholm raced the entire night with a swollen ankle that almost increased his boot size. The veteran rider’s consistency was admirable as he maintained a steady pace throughout the main event, finishing in a respectable 17th place. Chisholm’s performance is a testament to his resilience and commitment to the sport.
The series heads to Nashville, Tennessee, for the 14th Monster Energy AMA Supercross series round. Racing is this Saturday, April 20th, at Nissan Stadium. Coverage of the race is on the Peacock TV app, with the first gate set to drop at 4:00PM PST.
