Twisted Tea/ H.E.P. Suzuki Presented by Progressive Insurance Freddie Noren 9th overall at Thunder Valley MX Park.

(Madera, CA, June 12th, 2023) – The Twisted Tea/ H.E.P. Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance team, continued its outdoor trek with Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, Colorado. The third round of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship series featured a challenging track with gnarly conditions. The combination of the track and altitude made for an interesting day. Led by Larry Brooks, our staff worked meticulously in the early stages of the day to get the race bike dialed. Freddie Noren led the team going 10-10 for 9th overall. Marshal Weltin had a consistent day going 11-11 for 12th overall. Kyle Chishom rode well, finishing the day 16th overall.

Freddie Noren #47

Freddie Noren #47: Lots of positives from the day for Freddie Noren. Freddie finished 9th overall and moved into 7th place for the overall series points standings. Freddie was running in 5th place in the first moto before dropping back to 10th place. In the second moto, Noren rallied to a 10th place finish after overcoming a rough start to the race.

“Solid round,” said Freddie Noren. “I went 10-10 for 9th overall and moved up to 7th place in the overall points standing. I should be happy with a 9th overall, but I’m really disappointed. I felt like I didn’t jell well with the bike and couldn’t ride very well. I felt off the pace all day. Still, we made some positives. I had some good starts. I didn’t fall or have any crashes. We are happy and in one piece. The team is doing a good job making sure I’m comfortable and getting better every week. We are going to keep moving forward.

Kyle Chisholm #11

Kyle Chisholm #11: Not the best round for the Veteran Kyle Chisholm. Still making the most of the day, Kyle Chisholm was able to come away with 16th overall.

“Honestly, kind of a disappointing round,” said Kyle Chisholm. “In the first moto, I had a decent start, but someone went down in the first turn right in front of me. I got tangled up in that. Then after I got up about three turns later, someone crashed in front of me again, and we got tangled up. It took me a while to get going being so far back. I only managed to catch up to 23rd place. I got a decent start in the second moto and rode steady. I ended up in 14th place. The track was gnarly. It was a lot of deep ruts. We have to be able to ride everything. I’ll be honest; these are not my favorite conditions. Happy to be out of here safe with no crashes. I’ll be looking forward to getting on some more of those east coast tracks.”

Marshal Weltin #50

Marshal Weltin #50: Exciting round for Marshal Weltin. Very consistent two motos for Weltin in 11th place for 12th overall.

“One year with the team to the day,” said Marshal Weltin. “It was a cool day for me. I had a decent qualifying. I was running in 7th for a bit in the first moto, but I lost the pace and ended up in 11th place. In moto two, I was running at a decent pace, and I kind of tweaked my leg, and I fell off the pace for the later stages of the second moto. I didn’t get tired; I was just battling some pain. I feel like I rode okay. It wasn’t my greatest performance, and it wasn’t my worst. It’s something to work on going in High Point!”

Larry Brooks – Team Manager

“We did okay in Thunder Valley,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “Time practice was a little bit rough. Bikes run a little differently up here, so we are always chasing the power, trying to get it mapped correctly. All the riders qualified, no problem. At the end of the day, Freddie Noren finished 9th overall. Marshal Weltin finished 12th, and Kyle Chisholm finished 16th overall. Noren moved into 7th place in points. We are going to keep working. We will see what happens next weekend at High Point.”
